East China Sea
East China Sea is located in Pacific Ocean. Its total area is 1, 249, 00 square kilometer; and maximum depth is 4,600 meters. The East China Sea, an arm of the Pacific Ocean is located off the eastern coast Asia. The Sea bordered by Kyushu Island and the Nansei Shoto to the east and by Taiwan and the Taiwan Strait to the south. It merges with the yellow sea to the northwest. The Yangzi, Asia's longest river drains into East China Sea just north of Shanghai, China.
It is the main shipping route between the South China Sea and North Pacific Ocean ports, and Shanghai's extensive port facilities which must be regularly dredged to accommodate ocean-going vessels-handle the bulk of China's foreign shipping. To the east, Nagasaki has one of the best natural harbours in Japan. The sea is heavily fished for croaker, tuna, cuttlefish, and cutlass fish.
